Berniece L. Van Dyke, 89, of Rochester, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Berniece was born on July 13, 1929, in Springfield, the daughter of Victor and Bessie Edson DeCroix. She married Clyde Van Dyke on January 22, 1949 in Springfield: he preceded her in death.

Berniece worked at St John's College of Nursing as a secretary and retired in 1997. She was a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Greg Cross; grandson, Christopher Michael Cross; and sister-in-law, Judy DeCroix

She is survived by daughter, Claudia Cross; son Phillip (Emma) Van Dyke; four grandchildren, Anjanette (Randy) Lord, Sara (Diego Garcia Pantoja) Van Dyke, Jason (Elizabeth) Van dyke and Aaron (Katie) Van Dyke; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Victor (Joann) Decroix and Bill DeCroix.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Brian Caughlan officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.
