Becky June Greene Whitehead, 60, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center.

Becky was born on May 2, 1955 in Springfield the daughter of John and June Sunman Greene Sr.

She was a consultant for the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity retiring after 36 years.  She served on the Greenview School Board and did catering for friends and family.  She loved horses and watching old westerns.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan and enjoyed spending time with her son.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by son, Garth Whitehead; Alban Kaculi and Alfonzo Reina were two of her many adopted sons through the foreign exchange student program; father, John Greene Sr. of Virginia; brother, John Green Jr. of Virginia; three sisters, Margaret McCurdy, Deborah Batres and Cynthia Bly all of Springfield; one niece, Stephanie Guerrero; one nephew, Jim Graham; and six great-nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the home of Pegi Greene, 3062 Panther Creek Drive, Springfield, IL 62711.
