SPRINGFIELD, IL - Barbara Caroline Wiggins, 80, of Springfield, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at St. John's Hospital.

Barbara was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Geneseo, Ill., the daughter of Bernard and Bernice Opalka Verscha. She married David K. Wiggins on July 19, 1958 in Galva, Ill.

She worked as a Registered Nurse for St. John's Hospital retiring in 1991 after 37 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She is survived by her husband, David Wiggins; three children: Denise (Mark) Kerhlikar of Modesto, Robert (Theresa) Wiggins of Springfield, and Mary (Gary) Vogt of Springfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Butch (Judy) Verscha; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be accorded by Springfield Crematory.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends following the graveside services at the TRN Club, 26 Lakewood Dr., Chatham, IL 62629.
