Barbara Tuxhorn Shepardson

ROCHESTER - Barbara Tuxhorn Shepardson, 79, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.

Barbara was born on December 20, 1935, in Rochester, the daughter of Elmer B. and Mary Smith Tuxhorn. She married Charles W. Shepardson on October 21, 1973, in Rochester.

Barbara worked for Bressmer's for 29 years and later for Bunn Capitol where she retired after 20 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sangamon Chapter 746, Daughters of the American Revolution and South Fork Church of Christ. She enjoyed meeting with classmates for dinner every 3rd Monday from her graduating class of 1954.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; one sister, Grace (Dwight) Pope; brother, Ben (Mary Alice) Tuxhorn; seven nieces and nephews; one stepniece; ten great-nieces and nephews; three stepgreat- nieces and nephews; and eleven great-great- nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be accorded by Springfield Crematory.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Dustin Bramer officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributors may be made to Ansar Shrine or Rochester Christian Church.
