Barbara Gale Reedy

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Barbara Gale Reedy, 73, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center after a battle with cancer.

Barbara was born April 3, 1941, in Bluefield, Va., the daughter of Carl and Bessie Thompson Grubb. She married Richard A. Reedy on Aug. 12, 1957, in Bluefield, Va.

She was a military wife serving in many locations with her husband, Richard, for more than 20 years, including six years in England. She worked for several years at Sears and Larry's IGA in Chatham. She was of the Protestant faith and attended Four Square Gospel Churches in various cities. She was an avid Bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Derick Reedy; and granddaughter, Stephanie Francis.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Springfield; daughter, Karla Reedy of Springfield; grandchildren, Brian Francis of Riverton, Bradley Reedy of Effingham and Makenzie Francis of Springfield.

Cremation was accorded by Springfield Crematory.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
