Barbara Jayn Duffey, 80, of Divernon, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Barbara was born April 29, 1944 in Springfield, IL to Roy and Sarah Bates.

As a youth, she volunteered as a candy striper at St. John's Hospital in Springfield; and worked there as a young adult in various positions.

She married Paul M. Duffey on March, 30, 1963.

She raised her 5 children, and ran her house-cleaning business for most of her adult life.

After retirement, Barbara became the daycare for her many grandchildren.

She loved watching her husband and children sing together. Her favorite hobbies were reading and sewing. Most of all, she loved just spending time with her family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her 6 siblings, her husband and her oldest son, Paul M. Duffey II.

She is survived by her children; Roy (Lisa) Duffey of Pana, IL, Trinity (Robert) Flowers of Divernon, IL, Ben (Penny) Duffey of Riverton, IL, David (Misty) Duffey of Paris, IL, her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service for Barbara will be held on Monday November 25, 2024 at Lincoln Land Baptist Church, 4474 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62702 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery on the westside of Springfield.

Pastor Ronald Mattoon will be presiding.
