Arthur Leland Groves, 75, of Springfield, IL passed away at Lewis Memorial Christian Village on Monday December 12, 2022.

Arthur was born in Springfield on September 27, 1947 and was the son of Truman and Frances (Johnson) Groves.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Arthur is survived by his sister, Virginia McCawley of Springfield; brother, David Groves of Springfield; brother, Dennis Groves of Springfield; nephew, Eric McCawley of Springfield; aunt, Florence Hagen (late husband Harold); uncle Elden and aunt Eileen Johnson; many cousins; and lifelong friends, Les and Diane Leamons.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Arthur's kind caregivers.

Arthur attended Springfield Schools and graduated from Feitshans High School in 1965. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army. After his military service, Arthur went to work in the Insurance Industry for many years. He was a good brother and he enjoyed billiards, traveling, skiing, and drinking root beer.

Arthur will be laid to rest at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Monday Dec. 19, 2022 at 2:00pm. Military Honors will be held. Anyone wishing to attend should me at Camp Butler 10 minutes prior to service time.
