Anthony "Tony" B. Meyer, 49, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at his residence.

Tony was born on November 15, 1968 in Effingham the son of William B. and Judy A. Heuerman Meyer.

Tony received his Bachelors of Science from Eastern Illinois University.  He worked for Franklin Life and later went on to work for the State of Illinois Board of Education.  He loved spending time with his kids.  He was a Chicago Cub's and Bears fan, enjoyed golfing and wood working.

He is survived by his daughters, Katie Meyer and Jennifer E. (Ryan) Juhl both of Springfield; son, Matt Phillips of Mattoon; parents, William and Judy Meyer of Charleston; sister, Diane Meyer of Westchester; brother, Andy (Valerie) Meyer of San Antonio, TX; niece, Lauren Meyer; and nephews, Sam and Alex Meyer.

Cremation will be accorded.  Memorial services will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
