Anna R. McCann, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at The Mosaic of Springfield.

Anna was born on May 13, 1931 in Springfield the daughter of Anthony "Tony" and Anna DiGiovanna Luparell.  She married John Gordon McCann: he preceded her in death on December 22, 1989.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Sangamo Electric for a short time.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, John Anthony McCann; and siblings, Eva Bringle, Vincent, Anthony "Tony" and Joseph Luparell.

She is survived by son, Edward William (Lori) McCann; daughter, Mary Anne (Patrick) Casper; siblings, Rosie Skinner, Laura Everhart, Josephine Skeeters, Mary Ann Carraro and John Luparell; grandchildren, Edward William McCann, Jr., Joshua and Justin Smolenski, Shannon Marie, Mary Kate and Hannah Elizabeth Casper; great-grandchildren, Mina Marie and Max Lee McKinney; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Steven Janoski officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
