ILLIOPOLIS, IL - Allen D. Brickey Jr., 72, of Illiopolis, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at his residence.

Allen was born Feb. 21, 1943, in Springfield, Ill., the son of Allen Denton Brickey Sr. and Eleanor Mae (Sparks) Brickey. He married Donna Bice on Nov. 25, 1965.

He served in the Illinois Army Reserves in the 1960s. After a long career in the insurance industry, he retired from EMC Insurance as District Sales Manager of the Central and Southern Illinois District.

He was longtime member of the Illiopolis Village Board as a trustee and served two terms as the Mayor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen D. Brickey Sr.

He is survived by wife, Donna J. Brickey; daughter, Brenda (Doug) Brown of Illiopolis; two sons, Brian Brickey of Colorado, and Brad (Jeanna) of Illiopolis; mother, Eleanor M. Brickey; brothers, David (Judy) Brickey of Rochester, and Curtis (Jeanne) Brickey of Pawnee; grandchildren: Austin Brickey, Samantha Brown, Zachary Brickey, Allen Brown, Garrett Brickey, and Ashlyn Brickey; and great-grandchild, Oliver Brickey.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis with Chaplain Linda Blakeman officiating.

Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Spaulding.
