Alan Kevan Skaggs
EDINBURG - Alan Kevan Skaggs, 64, died on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at his residence.
Alan was born on April 28, 1950, in Decatur, the son of Lester and Imogene Williams Skaggs. He married Tammy Sue Falconer on April 26, 2005.
He was a graduate of Mt. Pulaski High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He retired from the Decatur Correctional Center and was an over-the-road truck driver for Rosen's for 11 years. He was a lifetime member of the Phoenix Fire Department in Mt. Pulaski and a member of the Logan County Horse Search and Rescue. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, including Jake Baines and William Sterling his unofficial adopted children.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Sue Skaggs; two daughters, Crystal Thomas and Dawn Musick; three stepsons, David (Courtney) Hunsley and Dustin and Dalton Dierker; mother, Imogene Skaggs; one sister, Nena Parn; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Dustin Bramer officiating.
