Ruby Watts Coady, 90, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ruby was born on April 29, 1927 in Springfield the daughter of William and Ruby Reynolds Watts.  She married Raymond Coady on June 12, 1971; he preceded her in death on June 12, 1986.

She was employed at Sangamo Electric for 25 years and retired from Illinois Department of Revenue after 12 years.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Beverly Cothren and three sisters, Mary Alice Lovell, Irene Stewart and Nancy Ellenberg.

She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Redfern and Brenda Oliver; grandchildren, Gary (Jill) Pollack, Tracie (Barney) Oldfield, Melissa Oliver, Jamie Redfern, Zane Redfern, Stephanie (Nick) Pickett, Gabbrielle (Jeff) Thomas and Paul Redfern; ten great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
