Rose Darlene Thomas, 85, of Sherman, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Heritage Health Hospice.
Rose was born on June 14, 1932 in Sangamon County the daughter of Oliver and Blanche E. Thompson Hulbert. She married George Oscar Thomas on April 8, 1950 at 3rd Presbyterian Church.
She was a homemaker and a member of 3rd Presbyterian Church. She would attend Bible study and used to play the piano, organ and accordion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, George O. Thomas of Sherman; children, Dennis Thomas of Springfield, Diane Burris of Sherman and Richard (Angie) Lee Thomas of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Velma Hulbert; grandchildren, Jason Thomas, Ashley (Nick) Kennedy, Kevin Burris, Keith Burris, Andrew Thomas and Rachel Thomas; great-granddaughter, Ava Kennedy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 23 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Joe Eby officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
