Lois Lucille Iams, 91, of Poway, CA, formerly of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Boulder Creek Post Acute Nursing Home.

Lois was born on July 16, 1926 in Pleasant Plains the daughter of Charles and Lizzie Smith Alexander.  She married Fay William Iams on May 10, 1944 in Alma, KS; he preceded her in death on October 20, 1982.

She worked as a nurse both privately and for MMC.  After retiring she worked as a greeter for Walmart in both Illinois and California.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Iams; eight siblings; and great-granddaughter, Gabriella Farrell

She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Debi) Iams of Springfield and Larry (Janet) Iams of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Cassandra Iams of CA, Heather (Ian) Farrell of OH, Sharlene Benedict of NY, Kati (David) Carmody  of CA, and Daniel Iams of Springfield; great grandchildren, Sullivan Farrell, Zachary Benedict, Rachel and Abigail Carmody; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Plains Cemetery with Reverend Donald Pritchard officiating at a later date.
