Lindsay Hedgepath Obituary

Lindsay Anne “Linz” Hedgepath, 38, of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born January 8, 1981 in Springfield to surviving parents Valerie (Malensky) of Springfield and Richard Hedgepath of Anaheim Hills, California. She is also survived by her sister and brother- in-law, Allyson and Kyle Bartlett, step-sister April Wilson, cousin Todd Malensky, niece Sydney Bartlett, nephew Seth Hedgepath, second cousin T.J. Malensky, aunts Nancy Malensky, Charlene Malensky and Kay Rees, all of Springfield. She is also survived by her uncle Michael Malensky and her aunt Chris of Boise, Idaho as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Wilma and George Eakins and maternal grandparents Mick and Betty Malensky, step-mom Janice Hedgepath, step-sister Dawn Stephens, and uncles Tim and Dan Malensky.

She had worked as a pastry chef, chef and line cook for numerous Springfield establishments, most recently with Lake Pointe Grill.

Lindsay was loved by many and a friend to all and always had a smile to share and a helping hand to lend. She was a very creative and talented artist and writer and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to read, adored children and animals and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and playing her bass. She loved animated films and shows and was a huge Simpsons fan. She was also an avid collector of Hot Wheels cars and a fan of both Marvel and DC comic books, characters and movies.

Lindsay will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

Cremation will be accorded with burial at a later date. A memorial tribute will take place for Lindsay on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th St. Springfield IL 62702. Friends may come and call on the family from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
