Lifelong local resident, H. Victor (Vic) Lankford, 79, of Rochester, passed away on December 19, 2017.

He was married to the love of his life, Sandy Lankford for 49 years until she passed away in 2012.

He will be missed by two children, Jamie (Wendy) Lankford and Becky (Matt) Wilson; seven grandchildren, Mason, Isaac, Caleb, and Bailey Lankford, Connor and Carson O'Sullivan and Amanda (Dakota) Jackson; and a great grandson, Ryker Jackson. Also missing Vic is his sister, Doris Lankford; his father-in-law, Leonard Hill; his sister-in-law, Linda (Dan) Clymer; his brother-in-law, Kent (Lynn) Hill; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His constant companion and furry friend, Sammy will miss him terribly.

Vic was a member of West Side Christian Church for most of his life, and was currently a member of Rochester Christian Church. Most of his career he worked for Horace Mann Insurance Company.  Upon retirement he enjoyed volunteering at Abraham Lincoln Museum and Memorial Medical Center. He loved visiting his grandkids on the East Coast and was an avid fan of his grandson's hockey teams. Recently, he has greatly enjoyed the company of his lady friend, Mary Florence who will also miss him greatly.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at Rochester Christian Church. Pastors Brad Ferris and Lynn Laughlin presiding. 

The family has requested that donations be made to Lake Springfield Christian Assembly instead of sending flowers.
