Elizabeth Hobson

Elizabeth Hobson, 87, of Chatham, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Elizabeth was born on June 12, 1930 the daughter of Floyd D. and Katherine VanWinkle Miller.  She married Robert Dean Hobson on April 10, 1953; he preceded her in death on June 13, 1994.

She graduated from Graham Hospital School of Nursing in 1953.  She worked for Pekin Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse.  She did water aerobics three times a week for 17 years at Fit Club, was an avid fisherman, and loved her children and grandchildren.  She was very active and had a sweet nature.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna Fontana and Patty Elam; and brother, Del Miller.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Jamie) Hobson of Warrington, MO and Wesley (Jody) Hobson of Galesburg; one daughter, Donna M. Romine of Chatham; three grandchildren, James Robert “JR” Hobson of Seattle, WA, Elizabeth (Ben) Fuchs of St. Louis, and Chad Romine of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation will be accorded.  No services are planned at this time.
