Edward E. “Butch” Hale, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at his residence.

Butch was born on June 3, 1951 in Springfield the son of Clarence Edward and Ruth Eileen Johnson Hale.

He was a self-employed mechanic and owned AA Towing. He was in the United Auto Workers Union and belonged to different motorcycle charters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robin Price; sister, Susan Hale; and brother, Jack Hale.

He is survived by his son, Tom (Renae) Hale of Petersburg; grandchildren, Megan Blemler, Jeffrey Price, Renee Colley, Zachary Hale and Anthony Hale; great-grandchildren, Kyden Price, Addison, Aria and Ava Blemler, and Natalie and Owen Colley; sisters, Diane McAllister, Bonnie Cox and Vicky Williams; brothers, Dennis Hale and Tommy Hale; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of life will be at a later date.
