Berneice Boesdorfer, 92, formerly of Pleasant Plains passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Village.

Berneice was born on July 16, 1925 in DeSoto, the daughter of Arnold and Cora Will Mileur. 

In 1942, she moved with her parents and siblings to the Pleasant Plains area.  After graduating from Pleasant Plains High School in 1943, she was employed by Sangamo Electric until 1951.  She married Rolland Boesdorfer in 1948. He preceded her in death 2009.

Berneice was a charter member of Pleasant Plains Community Club.  She was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains and its Mary Martha Guild.  Berneice worked at Brandt Fertilizer from 1969 until 1982.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Mileur; and sister, Elouise Zelozzi.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah (John) Edie of Springfield; son, Dennis (Monica) Boesdorfer of Pleasant Plains; four grandchildren, Michael (Dana) Greene of Springfield, Lisa (Jenn) Greene of Houston, TX, Brent (Kendra) Boesdorfer of Springfield, and Jamie (Ryan) Murphy of Chatham; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Berneice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains. Additional visitation will from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains with Reverend Donald Pritchard officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Clayville Historic Site’s Education Fund.
