William A. Sowers, 75, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his residence.
Bill was born on July 25, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Wayne and Maxine “Micky” Sowers. Bill worked for the Springfield Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Bill married Thelma D. Tribble in 1966 and then Linda Isaia on June 13, 1970 and she survives. He enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1965-1967. Bill enjoyed his association with the Star 66 Café and all of the patrons and people he met there, as well as working on cars and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived his life his way and had a saying “Just another day in paradise boys and girls”.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth Sowers and Wayne Thomas Sowers.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Christopher Anthony Isaia (companion Barb), and Jennifer L. Sowers; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Cathy Sowers (companion Doug), and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, at Wilson Park Funeral Home from 11:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00PM with Reverend Andy Conklin officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
