Vicki C. Grove age 78 a longtime resident of Springfield, IL. and Long Beach, MS. passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. 

Vicki was born in Eldorado, IL on August 11, 1938 to the late James and Lena (Hardesty) Poole.  She married Kenneth C. Grove on June 10, 1964 and he preceded her in death in 2000. 

Vicki was a faithful member of the Baptist Church. 

She will also be remembered working at the Governor’s office in Springfield, IL and the Office of Personnel Management in Gulfport, MS.  She loved mastering brain teasers, her cats and interacting with family especially the grandkids.  She was very dedicated to her family and friends and will always be remembered as a very kind soul who always provided sound advice.  She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be missed by everyone.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Manuel Grove; and her sisters, Eileen Rice, Ann Dunkel and Betty Drone.

Vicki is survived by her son, John Grove of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law Michele Grove; stepson, Kenneth “Casey” Grove; two grandchildren, Alex Hutcheson and Cameron Grove; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Bentley, and Kaiden; and one sister, Jo Maloney of Mt. Vernon, IN.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
