Raymond Roth Obituary

Raymond Roth, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. John's hospital.

Raymond was born on October 11, 1930 in Springfield, the son of Lawrence and Marie McSherry Roth.  He married Jean Walters on January 20, 1951 in Taylorville; she preceded him in death.

Raymond graduated St. James Trade School where he learned to be a meat cutter. He then went on own Roth's Meats. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed playing cards and was blessed with many grandkids. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Raymond is survived by three sons, Raymond (Sue) Roth of Rochester, Larry (Jan) Roth of Auburn, and James (Barbara) Roth of Springfield; one daughter, Vickie (Clay) Orr of S.C.; two brothers, Paul Roth of Lamont and Jerome Roth of Marquette MI; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Rochester with Father Brian Alford officiating.  Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
