George Thomas Young Jr., 57, of Springfield passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 8:34 a.m. at his residence.

George was born February 10, 1960 in Springfield the son of George Sr. and Jean Neal Young.

George was a lifelong resident of Springfield.  He loved to fish, camp, and cook out with family and friends.  He also enjoyed riding his bike.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by his parents, George and Jean Young; four sons, George (Donna) Young, Anthony (Sarah) Young, Richard (Amie) Young and Greg (Shannon) Young; one sister, Tina (Todd) Wilson; one brother, Jeff Young; twenty grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Ralph McCarty officiating.

There will be a celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Grandview Hall.
