Earl D. White, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.

Earl was born on November 15, 1928 in Springfield the son of Marshall and Moselle Garlit White.  He married Elaine M. Coventry on November 25, 1954; they divorced in 1977.  He later married Odessa Knoche on June 30, 1978,

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.  Earl attended Feitshans High School and later DeVry University where he received his certification in electronics.  He worked for Sangamo Electric for 29 years and later for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation retiring in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Marshall and Paul White.

He is survived by his wife, Odessa White of Springfield; three daughters, Karen (companion, Ted Hoisington) Clinton of Assumption, Nancy (Wally) Musser of Cabot, AR and Janet (Ron Awbrey) White of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Linda (Phil) Mercker of AZ; one stepson, Patrick (Lorraine) O’Neal of Springfield; one sister, Betty (Junius) Fischer of CA; seven grandchildren; eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private graveside services will be held.
