Dorothy M. McLaughlin (Shifflett), 71, of Jacksonville, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

Dorothy was born on March 11, 1946 in Springfield the daughter of Andrew and Ruby Ohl McLaughlin Sr. 

Dorothy was a graduate of Williamsville High School.  She worked for Boss Manufacturing for over 30 years in the re-handling and shipping department.  She later went on to work for Memorial Medical Center in housekeeping.  She enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and son Arthur “Artie” Shifflett III; one sister, Arlene Beetle.

She is survived by one son, Jeff (Lorie) Shifflett of Sherman; daughter-in-law, Kelly Shifflett of Andrew; one sister, Betty Angell of FL; one brother, Andrew (Bev) McLaughlin Jr. of Springfield; six grandchildren, Amber, Blake and Emily Shifflett, Brittney and James Fair and Katie Mohn; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 3-6:00 Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Joe Eby officiating.  Burial will follow at Moweaqua Township Cemetery in Moweaqua.
