Carrolyn Anderson

July 21, 1943 ~ December 26, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Carrolyn Anderson, 74 formerly of Springfield and Rochester died December 26, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center from COPD with complications from type A influenza.

Carrolyn was born at the family home in Atterberry, July 21 1943. The daughter of Pearl and Edwin Anderson. She was baptized in the Pecan Run River at the age of 12. She graduated from Petersburg-Harris High School in 1961.

She married Chuck Hardwick, they had two daughters, Vonetta Charlene (Char) and Connie Jean. They adopted Barb, and had a happy family. Even after they divorced they remained friends.

She then worked as a waitress at the Chardel and Pisani's. She met Walt Fry and they married. With his daughter Terry (Carl Meclinberg), they made a happy family. Then she learned data entry and went to work for Illinois Department of Revenue for many years. She and Walter divorced. Later she co-owned Deer Park Campground, and could run or fix anything and everything there. Then she set her mind to go into health care. She worked so hard and her crowning glory was the day she became a nurse. She retired from St Johns then did private duty for Bob Reisch. She loved and cared for him like a son.  Any craft she ever tried she did and did very well, quilting, knitting, crochet, sewing, making candles and on and on. She was a Cub fan and a clean freak.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie Broccardo; grandson, Isaac Weitekamp; siblings, Oma Anderson, Fay Fife, Betty Edwards, (triplets) Lawrence, Loren and Leland Anderson, Bill Anderson, Dana Anderson, Ruth Sharp and Mick Anderson.

She is survived by daughters, Charlene (Dennis) Weitekamp, Barb (Ed) Scoggins; siblings Bonnie Smith, Eldene (Mac) McCoy, Connie (Jim) Bottoms, Pat (Kathy) Anderson; like a son, Bill (Carol) Hummell; grandchildren, Nick (Mirandi) Phillips, Tim Hummell, Mike Weitekamp (companion, Miss Carol),  Nick (Rhonda) Hummell, Gabriella Broccardo (companion, Eric), Ezekiel (Chelsea) Weitekamp, Holly Weitekamp (companion, Mike), Dante and Alexandria Broccardo; great-grandchildren, Wade, Jayden, Lilly, Heidi, Penelope, Erin and Annisa; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a second Mom to so many.
